UK Government Launches Crown Marketplace to Simplify Government Procurement

The Crown Marketplace is a new digital platform launched by the UK government to simplify the procurement process for government contracts and enhance contract management. The platform is designed to streamline the buying process, making it easier for government departments and suppliers to do business with each other. The Crown Marketplace will enable government departments to search for suppliers and compare prices for goods and services, while suppliers will be able to manage their contracts and update their details through a single portal. The platform is expected to save the government up to £2.5bn ($3.4bn) a year by 2023, by improving procurement efficiency and reducing costs. The Crown Marketplace is part of the UK government’s broader agenda to digitize public services and increase efficiency in the public sector.
