Nintendo Co Ltd (7974.T) of Japan said on Friday that a global chip scarcity, which led the company to lower sales forecasts for its popular Switch system, is also affecting hardware development.
“The semiconductor situation is having some impact on hardware development,” Nintendo’s development team leader Ko Shiota told an analyst briefing.
“To try and limit the impact, we’re looking at swapping components and altering designs,” he added.
