The semiconductor industry’s struggle to keep up with incoming orders is likely to persist, according to a member of German chipmaker Infineon’s management board, who told the Handelsblatt newspaper on Wednesday that supply bottlenecks could last until the end of 2022.
“The bottlenecks will linger well into 2022, possibly until the end of the year,” said Helmut Gassel, Chief Marketing Officer of Deutsche Bank. At the same time, demand remains high as a result of the global push toward digitization, according to Gassel.
“We haven’t seen any order cancellations so yet,” he said.
