Condense Reality, a metaverse live streaming business, has raised £3.7 million

Condense Reality, a Bristol-based metaverse infrastructure business has raised $4.5 million (£3.7 million) in a funding round further to develop its hybrid virtual and real-world event technology.

Condense Reality uses a portable multi-camera system to capture real-world events such as music concerts in 3D. The event is then streamed via its cloud platform, and plugins are provided for businesses to integrate the 3D footage into their own applications.

The goal is to include real-time events such as concerts, conferences, art exhibits, and other activities into a virtual reality experience.

Streaming 3D events for virtual reality experiences has been an extensively touted element of the emerging metaverse, a catch-all name for a version of the internet that mixes the physical and digital worlds via virtual and augmented reality headsets.

Condense’s business model is described as “infrastructure as a service” to UKTN. Clients are charged per minute of live streamed content.
