After a lot of speculation, Manchester United have finally announced their decision to partner with TeamViewer as their new shirt sponsor. The deal will run through the next 5 years. The reported sum that Manchester United will bank from this partnership is going to be over 235 million pounds, which makes it the biggest shirt sponsorship deal in the history of English football.
Before TeamViewer, the Red Devils enjoyed a 7 years long association with Chevrolet. The Chevrolet deal is due to expire at the end of this season and there was already a mutual agreement to not engage in talks for any further extension. The parting of ways with Chevrolet also means that the English giants will now look for a new automobile partner.
This new deal has placed Manchester United alongside the likes of FC Barcelona in terms of most valuable shirt sponsorships in football. Apart from their matchday fit, the sponsorship deal for United’s training base, Carrington, as well as their training kits is also up for renewal this year. The club is yet to reveal whether they are looking for a solitary sponsor for both or it’s going to be two separate deals.
When asked about this record-breaking sponsorship deal, United’s managing director, Richard Arnold stated “We are tremendously proud to be establishing this partnership with one of the most exciting and dynamic global software companies. The ability to connect and collaborate has never been more important to the world and our community of 1.1 billion fans and followers. We are looking forward to working with TeamViewer to bring to life our vision for a partnership built on smarter ways of connecting people and businesses.”
A brief about Manchester United new shirt sponsors, TeamViewer, would include their contribution in software creation for remote controlling and maintenance of computers and other devices. They started off back in 2005, and from there onwards, their German roots have grown to an extent where they now boast a strong global presence.
Their dynamism and ambition to explore fresher heights inspired Manchester United to initiate this revolutionary partnership.
