Bringing a Digitized Edge to Your Creative Process to Unlock Unimaginable Avenues

Adobe has officially announced the launch of its updated Firefly application, which happens to be the most comprehensive platform when it comes to generating images, vectors, and videos with the new Firefly Video Model in public beta.

According to certain reports, the stated application arrives on the scene as a platform which can seamlessly create production quality work with unparalleled creative control, multi-modal workflows, and deliver integration with industry-leading Creative Cloud applications.

Talk about the new Firefly Video Model for a second, it would be the industry’s first commercially safe AI video generation model, capable of powering Generate Video (beta) feature in the Firefly application, along with Generative Extend (beta) feature in Adobe Premiere Pro. It is also well-equipped to generate IP-friendly video content which can be used in production today.

Anyway, Adobe also took this opportunity to introduce two new offerings in the form of Firefly Standard and Firefly Pro, each focused on giving customers access of premium Firefly video and audio features. You see, all Firefly plans include unlimited access to Firefly imaging, vector features, and tiered capacity. The idea behind that is to help customers choose the right capacity for their generative AI needs.

All in all, Adobe’s Firefly’s renewed assortment of capabilities makes it possible for users to generate images, edit the images, turn them into videos and apply cinematic movement, eventually calling upon Adobe Creative Cloud applications to transition seamlessly from ideation to production.

“Firefly is designed for creative professionals looking for unmatched creative control and IP-friendly tools that can be used safely and effectively in both ideation and production,” said David Wadhwani, president of Adobe’s digital media business. “We’ve been thrilled to hear from beta customers who’ve found it a game-changer for ideating concepts and producing stunning videos, and we can’t wait to see how the creative community uses it to bring their stories to the world.”

Talk about the updated Firefly Application on a slightly deeper level, we begin from the facility to generate video, a facility which allows for creative professionals to produce video clips from a text prompt or image, use camera angles to control shots, create professional-quality images from 3D sketches, craft atmospheric elements and develop custom motion design elements.

Furthermore, the feature can support 1080p resolution to start, with a lower resolution ideation model available for high-speed iteration. There is also a 4K model for pro-level production work set to release soon.

Next up, we must dig into how the new Firefly app goes on to facilitate multi-modal workflows. This includes bringing together video, image and vector generation into a single application.

Thanks to that, creative professionals across the board can turn a generated image into stunning video, and at the same time, translate audio into several new languages. They can also write a text prompt for the purpose of creating a video clip with exactly the desired style and camera angle using Firefly.

Complementing that would be Firefly’s ability to integrate with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Adobe Express.

Another detail worth a mention is rooted in Firefly application’s scan-to-image feature, which allows you to create professional quality images from 3D sketches and reference shapes. Basically, users can leverage a lightweight 3D sketching tool to transform artwork into beautiful high-resolution images, build structure references directly within Text to Image, as well as create precise visual guides

Apart from that, these creative professionals can change 3D image angles and perspectives to get the perfect output. They can also render production-ready assets from 3D shapes, all with the flexibility and precision required across professional graphic design workflows.

“Firefly’s creator-friendly approach to AI has been instrumental in enhancing our creative process, allowing us to bring to life high-quality ideas & visuals at scale, more efficiently and in less time. Our creatives have been testing and providing valuable feedback, helping to steer the roadmap and building proprietary product solutions and custom workflows for our clients. From proof of concept to storyboarding and beyond, Firefly is accelerating creative development while ensuring commercially safe results,” said James Thomas, Global Chief Technology Officer at dentsu.
