Tracking assets inside building requires a different level of detail than typical outdoor asset tracking. Apptricity’s Asset Mapping platform allows users to create buildings, floors, and rooms using an intuitive “connect-the-dots” tool. Import existing floor plans in PNG or JPEG format to overlay an image onto the floor or upload an existing AutoCAD file to visualize building layout directly on the map itself.Asset pins on the map represent anywhere an asset is located. Users can click on asset pins to view details about the asset. Users can also customize the marker symbol to match the asset category and change the color of the symbol to color code for asset types. Location history can also be redrawn on the map, showing a movement record over a user-defined date range. Geofencing is used to enforce location boundaries for assets and alert users if boundaries are broken. Users can establish geofences by drawing on the map, or by using an existing building boundary. Custom colors and radius distances can be established to provide full control over geofence creation.
