Twitter prohibits sharing of personal photos, videos without consent

Twitter Inc (TWTR.N) announced on Tuesday that it will not allow users to share personal media such as images and videos without their authorization on its platform.

The privacy policy of the social media company already bans the sharing of other people’s personal information such as phone numbers, addresses, and IDs.

“When we are notified by individuals depicted, or by an authorized representative, that they did not consent to have their private image or video shared, we will remove it,” Twitter said in a blog post.

Jack Dorsey, the co-founder of Twitter, stepped down as CEO on Monday, handing over the reins to the company’s technology leader, Parag Agrawal.
