BeBop Sensors, a leader in supplying OEMs with state-of-the-art configurable intelligent sensing technologies, has announced the release of a new smart fabric sensor for next-generation human interaction.
The Note Touch reference design contains a tiny fabric sensor array (16×16 nodes) and a software toolkit for quickly bringing new ideas to market by experimenting with touch interfaces on any curved or flat surface. The Note Touch reference design combines traditional buttons, knobs, and switches with sleek improved aesthetics and a configurable interface using gestures including taps, swipes, and multi-touch.
From medical and fitness gadgets to seats, protective equipment, toys and consumer electronics, home automation, and more, manufacturers can incorporate the Note Touch into present or future goods.
“For OEM’s, this means enhancing their products’ usability and aesthetics by removing traditional interaction controls and replacing them with customizable smart fabric sensors – resulting in a much cleaner and sleeker appearance and next-gen human interaction, not to mention accelerating time to market, shortening development cycles, and lowering costs,” said Jerry Kurtze, Vice President, Business Development & Marketing at BeBop Sensors.Â
BeBop’s highly configurable reference design includes a device and software toolkit that allows users to experiment with and create with the company’s patented Intelligent Sensing Technology (IST). BeBop is a global leader in supplying OEMs with cutting-edge customizable intelligent sensing technologies for next-generation human interactions, robots, health and wellness, AR/VR applications, and more.
Force, location, size, weight, bend, twist, and presence are all sensed by BeBop’s sensors, which are combined with clever algorithms to turn data into relevant insights or next-generation smart interfaces. Our intelligent sensing technologies are transforming human-device interaction by allowing integration into a wide range of form factors, including flat or curved surfaces, gaming/TV controllers, earbuds, armrests, headrests, furniture, automotive controls, toys, and helmets.BeBop has won numerous awards, including the Red Herring Award, TIME Magazine Best Inventions Award, IDTechEx Wearable Award, Frost & Sullivan North American Technology Innovation Award, and Gartner Cool Vendor Award. The company provides highly customizable intelligent sensing solutions to a wide range of industries and Fortune 500 companies.
