The company announced on Friday that Netflix Inc’s (NFLX.O) streaming service had been restored after an hour-and-a-half outage across all platforms.
On Downdetector, which aggregates status updates from several sources, there were thousands of reports of an outage from nations such as the United States, France, and India.
As of the end of March, Netflix had over 220 million customers.
Some people turned to Twitter to express their dismay that the outage had ruined their intentions to binge-watch series on Friday night.
“Friday night and @netflix is unavailable! How’s it going on Friday night? “one user wrote on Twitter.
In December, an outage at Amazon.com’s (AMZN.O) cloud services subsidiary temporarily disrupted Netflix’s services. The issue also impacted Walt Disney’s (DIS.N) Disney+, Robinhood, various apps, and Amazon.com Inc’s e-commerce website.
According to the outage-tracking website, Block Inc’s (SQ.N) Square was also experiencing problems.
Twitter (TWTR.N) and Instagram (META.O), owned by Meta Platforms, had problems on Thursday. The microblogging site experienced a nearly three-hour outage.
