Direct Lithium Extraction Xchange Canada 2027 has opened its Call for Speakers, inviting senior executives, project developers, technology leaders, engineers, investors, policymakers,
Indigenous engagement specialists, and downstream battery supply chain experts to help shape a focused program addressing Canada’s path from lithium brine potential to commercial production.
Taking place on April 7, 2027, in Calgary, Alberta, the one-day conference will bring together lithium brine developers, DLE technology providers, oilfield operators, reservoir engineers,
process specialists, project financiers, engineering firms, government stakeholders, and battery supply chain leaders working to establish a scalable Canadian source of battery-grade lithium.
Western Canada combines prospective lithium-bearing brines with deep oilfield expertise, subsurface knowledge, service-sector capability, and existing infrastructure. Turning that advantage into commercial production will require more than resource potential. Projects must demonstrate reliable DLE performance, reservoir confidence, sustainable reinjection strategies, permitting readiness, financing discipline, and clear pathways to qualified battery-grade products and long-term offtake.
Five Strategic Pillars
The 2027 program is structured around five strategic pillars: Commercializing Western Canada’s Lithium Brine Resources; From Demonstration to Commercial DLE Performance; Subsurface
Engineering, Reservoir Management & Reinjection; Bankability, Permitting & First-of-a-Kind Project Financing; and Battery-Grade Processing, O1ake & North American Supply Integration.
Across these themes, the conference will examine resource definition, brine chemistry, technology performance, recovery rates, impurity management, uptime, lifecycle costs, wellfield design, reservoir behavior, reinjection dynamics, technical due diligence, project finance, Indigenous and community engagement, lithium conversion, product qualification, logistics, and cross-border supply integration.
Call for Speakers
The conference committee is seeking speakers who can bring practical project experience, validated data, technical depth, investment perspective, regulatory insight, and
commercialization lessons to these discussions. Priority will be given to contributions grounded in real-world projects, operating results, implementation experience, and commercially relevant case studies rather than broad corporate or promotional presentations.
Relevant contributors may include leaders from lithium brine development, DLE technology, oil and gas operations, geothermal projects, reservoir engineering, process engineering, water and brine management, project finance, EPC, government, Indigenous partnerships, battery
materials, cathode production, automotive, energy storage, and long-term offtake.
Building Canada’s Commercial DLE Ecosystem
With 100+ organizations represented and a senior decision-maker focus, Direct Lithium Extraction Xchange Canada 2027 is designed to connect the stakeholders responsible for moving projects from demonstration toward bankable commercial operation. The format combines technical presentations, executive discussions, and structured networking across the Canadian DLE ecosystem.
The event centers on one defining question: what will it take to move Canada’s lithium brine opportunity from potential to commercial production?
Speaker proposals should include the speaker’s name, job title, organization, brief biography, and proposed topic or area of expertise.
