Trump has asked a judge in Florida to order Twitter to reactivate his account.

Donald Trump, the former president of the United States, has requested a federal judge in Florida to order Twitter (TWTR.N) to reinstate his account. In July, Trump filed a lawsuit against Twitter, Facebook Inc (FB.O), and Alphabet Inc’s (GOOGL.O) Google, as well as its CEOs, alleging that they illegally silence conservative voices.

According to the story, Trump filed a preliminary injunction against Twitter late Friday in Miami, saying that the social media platform deactivated his account in January due to pressure from his congressional opponents.

Twitter did not respond to requests for comment. Outside of work hours, Trump’s representatives did not respond to a request for comment from Reuters. This year, Trump’s social media platform was taken away from him after the firms said he had violated their regulations against glorifying violence.

Hundreds of Trump supporters stormed the US Capitol on Jan. 6 after Trump repeated his false claims in a speech that his election loss was due to widespread fraud, an argument refuted by various courts, state election officials, and members of his own administration.

According to Bloomberg, the former president’s letter stated that Twitter “exercises a level of power and control over political discourse in this country that is immeasurable, historically unprecedented, and fundamentally damaging to open democratic debate.”
